Everybody has different likes and dislikes, different favorite flavors and not so favorite, and the same is true for how to eat your Micronized Purple Rice!
Not sure what my Micronized Purple Rice is? This is the best thing I put in my body. Here’s why… Micronized Purple Rice is an heirloom strain of purple rice grown in a pristine valley in Thailand.
They are able to extract just the nutrients needed to regenerate the cells. It takes 60 pounds of rice to get 1 pound of these nutrients.
Then, and this is the secret to why it works so well, they put it through a one-on-a-kind milling machine that mills it to the size of a micron. Because it’s so tiny, it can get into any cell no matter how damaged.

Yes, it’s best to do it just with water and it’s best to do it on an empty stomach, but there are lots of ways to eat this and they all work. Pick your favorite or try them all.
So here are some of my favorite ways to eat Micronized Purple Rice.
1. A Teaspoon of Purple Rice
This is for the real hard-core Purple Rice Eater – and many people love it this way. They just take a teaspoon of the powder, put it in their mouth, chew on it a little bit, and then wash it down with a big glass of water.
2. Purple Rice Pudding or Porridge
This is easily made with a heaping teaspoon of powder and a little bit of warm water to make it into a pudding or porridge texture. I mix mine in a tiny little bowl and use a tiny little spoon and really enjoy it like this sometimes. Many people say this reminds them of the cereal they ate as a baby.
3. The Purple Rice Shot
This is the way I usually recommend people to start with the rice. It’s quick and easy and only one mouthful. Just mix a heaping teaspoon of the purple rice powder into 1 to 2 ounces of water… in a small lidded container. Shake it vigorously to mix it well and then drink it like a shot in one mouthful.
4. The Bottle of Purple Rice Water
Just add a heaping teaspoon of powder to a regular bottle of water. Make sure you drink a little bit out of it first before you put the powder in, and then before each sip of water you just need to shake it up. The powder is so tiny that it slips in between the molecules of water and goes immediately to the bottom. So you need to shake it before each drink.
5. Purple Rice Tea
I love drinking green tea in the morning and I will often put my teaspoon of purple rice in my warm – not boiling hot – green tea. That’s the healthiest tea to drink with this, but you can use any one of your choice. It’s better not to use a sweetener or sugar or honey in this as the sugars can bond to the molecules of the rice and make them too big to enter directly and through cell membranes … instead, it has to go through the whole digestive process.
6. Shake it on Your Salad or Food
I have a shaker of purple rice on my table and will often carry it with me when I go out to eat and use it just to shake a little purple rice on my salad or vegetables or any other foods. It’s just another good way to get this amazing functional food into my body.
7. Purple Rice Smoothie
I make my green vegetable smoothies in the morning and will often put a teaspoon of purple rice in it to just make it more nutritious.
8. Icy Yakunaah Blast
Oh my gosh, this is so good! I take about a cup of ice, a cup of our stress drink called Yakunaah, and a heaping teaspoon of Micronized Purple Rice and blend it up. It makes a cool, refreshing, nutritious drink that can relax my body and mind and fuel my cells all at the same time. Yum!

9. Micronized Purple Rice Capsules
If you’re in a hurry or you just don’t want to play in the kitchen, you can always take a handful of purple rice capsules. Five capsules equal one heaping teaspoon of purple rice powder.
Please remember: This is a raw, vegan food. It’s the most perfect and assimilable food you could ever put in your body. It’s the only food I know of that can actually get through the cell membrane and fuel the mitochondria so it can produce more ATP light energy.
You can always eat more. I often eat a tablespoon rather than a teaspoon. If I’m really tired or very stressed I will eat more rice.
